The big city of ancient Maya serving as the house for 50 thousand inhabitants at peak of the development is located in 90 kilometers to the east of Chichen Itza, approximately in 40 km to the West from the Caribbean Sea and in 44 kilometers to the northeast of Tulum. All directions are connected today among themselves by modern convenient highways. The majority of objects were constructed during the period between 500 and 900 years. In the city there are some high pyramids. The highest pyramid of El-Castillo relating to group of buildings Nokhoch-Mul reaches height of 42 meters. On temple top where the small altar serving as a place of sacrifices is located conduct 120 steps on which persons interested can make ascension.
