Заансе Сханс / Zaansa Skhans

Заансе Сханс — это заповедник и музей под открытым небом. Он располагается на берегу реки Заан, к северу от Заандама в получасе езды от Амстердама. Отличительной чертой этой области является традиционная архитектура (зелёные деревянные домики).

Многие открыточные виды Голландии с мельницами отсюда. В 17-18 веках вдоль реки Заан стояло более 1000 ветряных мельниц. Сейчас осталось всего шесть, и все они действующие. Старинные мельницы мелят известняк и арахис, пилят бревна. А одну из мельниц помогал строить сам Петр Первый.

 To Zaansa Skhans — it is the reserve and the museum open-air. It settles down on the river bank Zaan, to the North from Zaandam in half an hour of a driving from Amsterdam. A distinctive feature of this area is the traditional architecture (green wooden lodges).

Many postcard views of Holland with mills from here. At 17-18 centuries along the river Zaan there were more than 1000 windmills. Now remained only six, and all of them acting. Ancient mills melit limestone and a peanut, saw logs. And Peter I helped to build one of mills.
