As in Japan at that time was very restlessly and wars between certain governors were constantly waged, both towers were well strengthened though at first sight the Matsumoto lock seems not too terrible, opposite – rather graceful and even air.
The third tower of the lock I was it is constructed a bit later – in 1635. Its main appointment – supervision over the moon so it has ceremonial character and it is much less strengthened, than senior "neigbours".
The Matsumoto lock is included into the National Treasures of Japan list, it is the oldest of four ancient constructions which remained in the country – the others were strongly damaged by numerous wars and earthquakes, so frequent for Japan.
The lock differs in very low ceilings, it is decorated by the ancient ladder conducting to the main halls in which the big collection of armor and the weapon of the period is presented to Sengok that means "the conflicting states" when Matsumoto was constructed.
The lock costs in very beauty spot and looks extremely vividly. Narrow wooden windows which in ancient times were used by Sagittariuses for protection of a structure against attacks, open a tremendous view of the city of Matsumoto, mountain tops and the snow-white swans floating in a ditch round the lock. Also the lock is surrounded by cherry trees during which blossoming it literally is buried in flowers.
This perfectly remained corner of ancient Japan serves as a venue of festivals and attracts tourists from all planet.
