Ботанический сад Андромеда, расположенный на прекрасном тропическом острове Барбадос, в округе Сент-Джозеф, неподалёку от рыбацкой деревни Батшеба — один из самых молодых растительных парков мира и самый крупный в восточном секторе Карибского региона.
Он был разбит в 1954 году Ирис Бэнночи на земле, числящейся за её родом ещё с середины XVIII века. Обустройство парка велось под руководством известных садоводов Барбадоса. Ещё при жизни женщина передала своё творение в дар острову. Так ботанический сад Андромеда перешёл под патронаж местных властей. Впервые публика увидела его в 70-е годы XX века, после чего парк никогда не закрывался для посетителей.
Современная барбадосская Андромеда — это собрание более 600 видов растений, к числу которых относятся не только цветы и низкорослые кустарники, но и шикарные вековые деревья. К примеру, в парке можно полюбоваться самой большой в мире пальмой – зонтоносной корифой, достигающей в высоту более чем 20 метров. Всего же в «Андромеде» насчитывается около 60 видов различных пальм. И это не удивительно – ведь этот ботанический сад занимает площадь более чем в два с половиной гектара.

Барбадосская Андромеда — это не только прекрасная коллекция мировой растительности, это ещё и удивительно красивое место с массой дорожек, тропинок и мостиков, проходящих через тропические красоты сада. В центре парка расположен живописный пруд с баньянами. На территории Андромеды имеется свой кафетерий, магазинчик с сувенирами и даже библиотека, а уютная беседка парка открывает вид на прекрасный морской пейзаж.

The botanical garden Andromeda located on the beautiful tropical island Barbados in Saint-Joseph's district, near the fishing village Batsheba — one of the youngest vegetable parks of the world and the largest in east sector of the Caribbean region.

It was broken in 1954 by Iris Bengnochi on the earth which is registered for its sort from the middle of the XVIII century. Arrangement of park was conducted under the leadership of famous gardeners of Barbados. Still during lifetime the woman donated the creation to the island. So botanical garden Andromeda passed under patronage of local authorities. For the first time the public saw it in the 70th years of the XX century then the park was never closed for visitors.

Modern Barbados Andromeda — this meeting more than 600 species of plants which number treat not only flowers and undersized bushes, but also smart century trees. For example, in park it is possible to admire the biggest palm tree in the world – zontonosny korify, reaching in height more than 20 meters. In total in "Andromeda" about 60 species of various palm trees are. And it isn't surprising – after all this botanical garden occupies the space more than in two and a half hectares.

Barbados Andromeda — it not only a fine collection of world vegetation, it also surprisingly beautiful place with a mass of the paths, footpaths and bridges passing through tropical beauty of a garden. In the center of park the picturesque pond from banyana is located. In the territory of Andromeda there is the cafeteria, a little shop with souvenirs and even library, and the cozy arbor of park opens a view of a fine sea landscape.
