Сегодня парк Монсо является излюбленным местом отдыха парижан. Туристы знают о нём немного и посещают редко, а вот исконные жители французской столицы частенько устраивают здесь пикники, дружеские посиделки и пробежки трусцой.

One of the most beautiful parks of Paris is in close proximity to the Triumphal arch. Put at the end of the XVIII century on the project of the theatrical artist Louis Karmontel, Monso's park had an appearance of a garden theater and Foley de Chartr was called.
The refined Gothic ruins, unusual Dutch mills, exotic Egyptian pyramid and numerous specific points of the review opening on picturesque landscapes with the improved small rivers belonged about hundred years to family of dukes Orleans. Then the park was redeemed by the state, cut territorially down on a half and, under the leadership of the architect Adolf Alfan, decorated with new types of constructions.
At the end of the XIX century in Monso's park there were artificial falls, English lawns and avenues, a winter garden and a greenhouse. For the first time the park opened the doors to general public in 1861.
Today Monso's park is the favourite vacation spot of Parisians. Tourists know about it a little and visit seldom, and here primordial residents of the French capital quite often arrange picnics, friendly sit-round gathering and jogs with a trot here.
Monso's park stretched in the territory in eight hectares has nine entrances. Central it is decorated with the gilded, shaped in the XIX century, pig-iron gate. Before an entrance to park the well-known rotunda of Claude-Nicol Leda settles down. Near eastern frontier of Monso there is an antique Corinthian colonnade stylized under destroyed by time.
