37-этажная телебашня Гуанчжоу считается второй по высоте в мире и уже давно входит в число главных достопримечательностей города. Она была построена к Азиатским играм, проходившим в Китае в 2010 году, став одним из самых ярких современных архитектурных сооружений в Поднебесной. Дизайн проекта разработала компания ARUP и она же занималась контролем за процессом строительства. Высота башни достигает 600 метров, при этом на уровнях 33, 116, 168 и 449 метров размещаются застеклённые смотровые площадки, позволяющие посетителям в комфортных и безопасных условиях наслаждаться видами Гуанчжоу. Здание выполнено в форме сетчатого цилиндра, с широким основанием и расширяющимся кверху окончанием конструкции.

Сетчатая оболочка телебашни Гуанчжоу сделана из стальных труб, а венчает строение внушительный стальной шпиль высотой 160 метров. Основным назначением башни является приём и распределение ТВ и радиосигналов, однако это не мешает ей оставаться и важным туристическим объектом, обслуживающим порядка 10 тысяч человек ежедневно. Помимо помещений связанных с главными функциями Canton Tower и смотровых площадок, в башне размещены многочисленные конференц-залы, а также есть кафе, рестораны и 4D кинотеатр для любителей ярких зрелищ. Здание настолько хорошо продумано, что практически полностью защищено от ударов стихии и абсолютно надёжно в плане устойчивости. Внутри, по всей высоте стен, запрятанные глубоко от чужих глаз, тянутся лабиринты проводов и труб, обеспечивающие техническое и функциональное оснащение башни. На смотровые площадки посетители попадают при помощи скоростных лифтов за считанные секунды. В тёмное время суток здание освещается разноцветными огнями и представляет собой захватывающее зрелище.
