В провинции западной Явы, в окрестностях индонезийского города Богор расположился великолепный ботанический сад — один из самых старейших и крупных в мире. На территории сада, раскинувшейся у подножья потухшего вулкана Салак, произрастает огромное количество самых экзотических растений.
Ботанический сад был основан группой ученых-инициаторов в мае 1817 года. Большой вклад в его развитие внес ботаник Й. Тейсманн, который более 30 лет собирал и пополнял коллекции сада. В саду ведется большая научная и исследовательская работа.
Растения Богорского ботанического сада собраны из разных тропических стран мира. В большом разнообразии представлены гигантские суккуленты, пальмы, бамбук, лианы, сапрофиты и множество других удивительных растений. Очень интересны растения с ходульными корнями из рода Pandanus, их можно увидеть на сухих, высоких участках сада. Но особой гордостью ботанического сада является богатая коллекция орхидей. Красивейшие орхидеи выращивают в специальных оранжереях, здесь представлено около 550 видов этих удивительных цветов.
Войдя в парк, посетители попадают на тенистую аллею столетних деревьев, увитых лианами, их сомкнутые кроны гордо устремляются ввысь. Лианы являются настоящим украшение сада и изумительным зрелищем. Некоторые из них переплетаясь, образовывают гигантские плети, другие привлекают яркими, свисающими гроздьями, соцветиями. Территория сада разделена на участки, на которых растения представлены по семействам. Сад поражает взор красотой и буйством красок, он прекрасен в любое время года. Здесь непрерывно цветут и плодоносят растения, над которым кружат бабочки самых разных размеров, слышно пение птиц. Очень красивы пруды сада, увенчанные лотосами.

In the province of the western Java, in the neighborhood of the Indonesian city of Bogor the magnificent botanical garden — one of the oldest and large in the world settled down. In a big variety huge succulents, palm trees, a bamboo, lianas, saprofita and a set of other surprising plants are presented. Plants with stilted roots from the sort Pandanus are very interesting, they can be seen on dry, high sites of a garden. But special pride of a botanical garden is the rich collection of orchids. The most beautiful orchids grow up in special greenhouses, about 550 species of these surprising flowers are presented here.

Having entered into park, visitors get on the shady avenue of the centenary trees twined lianas, their close kroner is proud direct up. Lianas are the present decoration of a garden and an amazing show. Some of them intertwining, form huge lashes, others attract with the bright, hanging-down clusters, inflorescences. The territory of a garden is divided into sites on which plants are presented on families. The garden strikes a look with beauty and violence of paints, he is beautiful at all seasons of the year. Here continuously blossom and fructify a plant over which butterflies of the most different sizes turn, singing of birds is audible. The garden ponds topped with lotuses are very beautiful.
