Mira Bridge, Tbilisi, Georgia.

Being allocated against old constructions of historic center of Tbilisi, over the river Mtkvari (Chicken) the unique glass Mira Bridge which connected two coast as two eras is located. On the one hand architecture of the past, with another – the modern city.

In due time construction of the bridge caused a resonance in society. The part of the population considered unacceptable to place so technological and modern creation near monuments of ancient architecture. But the majority agreed that it is time to bring cardinal changes in a city architecture, comparing emergence of Mira Bridge to construction of the Eiffel Tower.

The suspension wavy bridge of 156 meters was designed by the Italian architect Michel de Lutchtchi (Michel De Lucchi) together with the French engineer-lighter Filipp Martino (Philippe Martinaud). Thanks to a tandem of two creative persons and professionalism of the Italian construction company "Germa Steliza" on May 6, 2010, on Saint George's holiday, the patron of Georgia, fine illumination opened foot Mira Bridge. Especially fantastically this design in a night-time looks. At night about 30 thousand bulbs are lit and about 240 sensors united in interactive light system are activated. Using Morz's alphabet, on two parapets of Mira Bridge each hour appears the message containing the elements of the chemical table of Mendeleyev making a human body. The main idea of this representation – all people are uniform, irrespective of a nationality and religion.

Use of glass and metal in a design of the foot bridge also is symbolical, reflecting transparency of policy of the power. And the dynamic geometry means mobility and aspiration forward in the future. Quite so explains the decision on construction of the glass bridge the main initiator of the order, the president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.

Mira Bridge is one of the newest large-scale constructions in the capital of Georgia over the past few years. And its unusual architecture transfers a state and the planned purposes of the country ready to essential changes and one of the advanced countries of Europe wishing to become.

Hadzhu Bridge, Isfahan, Iran.

To hajj – the most beautiful bridge not only among eleven bridges of Isfahan thrown through Zayande's river, but also, perhaps, among all bridges of the world.

The Iranian city of Isfahan once was the capital of the Persian state, and governors from Timur's family in the 14th century put this bridge, however over the years it collapsed. In 1650 the shah Abbas the Second ordered to restore to the Hajj and, moreover, to build such bridge, equal to which on beauty and greatness won't be in all Asia. Orders of shahs usually aren't discussed.

Hadzhu Bridge and is considered today one of the most impressive places of Isfahan. It costs on a dam locks in which allow to control water level in the river for watering. Bridge length – over hundred meters, and width – around eight. Twenty three arches reach in height of 14 meters. Two circles allow to move in both directions as on horses and mullahs, and on foot, without "traffic jams" and accidents. The top circle, from a cobblestone road — for vehicles – is now closed though desperate motorcyclists, sometimes, rush through it, despite of police officers. The pavement can take a walk on each side, but side protections aren't present here therefore dangerously to approach edge. The lower part – the foot bridge. Today this most popular place for walks of residents of Isfahan and numerous tourists.

When the bridge was built, the shah with suite often visited him, stopping in the evening in octagonal pavilion in the center of the bridge (two others, similar, are located at coast on each side). Here he admired a decline, slowly drinking green tea, and sunshine played in patches of light on a ceramic mosaic by which walls of pavilion and the bridge are trimmed. His citizens enjoyed types of brilliant waters of the river under decline beams, strolling on galleries. Certainly, they weren't allowed to the shah. And today access to this pavilion is closed, and many persons interested come to admire a decline on the river

The most beautiful show occurs over Zayande's river when darkens. Hadzhu Bridge is suddenly lit so, as if it not a place of transition through the river, and the palace or a mosque, from delightful beauty with arches, transitions and pavilions. It is surprising that all these miracles remain without changes within two hundred years (in 1873 restored it).

Aqueduct of Pont du Gard, France.

Harbor Bridge, Sydney, Australia.

Harbor Bridge – the steel arch bridge located in the Sydney bay (Port Jackson). It connects the central business part of the city and the Northern coast.

It is one of the biggest bridges of arch type in the world and the biggest bridge in Sydney. Harbor Bridge is one of the main sights of the city, and photos of the Sydney bay overlooking the bridge and nearby Sydney Opera House became the business card of Australia long ago.

On the bridge which arch flight has length of 503 meters, the railway, car and foot traffic is carried out. Bridge width — 49 meters, and the total length of all bridge — 1 149 meters. It was constructed during the Great Depression. Construction was conducted 8 years, date of opening is considered on March 19, 1932. Before the gulf Port Jackson could be crossed on the ferry or to use long detours through some other bridges.

The gleam between a water surface and the bridge equals to 49 meters, and the general height of the bridge – 139 meters. Because of the unusual design Harbor Bridge received the playful name "hanger" at sidneyets. Harbor Bridge for a long time remains among the biggest arch bridges as today in need of construction of the bridge with long flight choose the easy and cheap scheme of a suspension bridge.

About 20 million dollars were spent for construction of this grandiose construction, and 1500 people were engaged in its construction. Driving through the bridge is paid, and makes 2-3 dollars, but pedestrians and cyclists can use it free of charge.

On a side arch of the bridge it is possible to make rise on its top with which the city panorama capturing spirit opens. Such opportunity especially for tourists and locals appeared in October, 1998.

Aqueduct in Segovia, Spain

The longest ancient Roman aqueduct in Europe is in the small Spanish town of Segovia. Along with other historical objects, since 1985 this monument is included into the list of the World heritage ЮНЕСКО.Дата of construction of an aqueduct is definitely not known. Allegedly it occurred in the 1st century of our era at the emperor Vespasiana. The aqueduct located on Plaza de Azoguejo Square blows the mind fantastically beautiful forms and graceful proportions. 166 two-story arches are put from 20 400 granite blocks without use of any connecting solution. It is the most known and majestic monument in Segovia.

The aqueduct was constructed by Romans for water supply of the underground channels connecting the city and the mountain small river in 17 km from it. The construction is a land piece of a long ancient water supply system. Reviver for many years regularly came to Segovia already on a stone trench. Length of an aqueduct makes 728 meters, and height in the maximum part – 28 m.

Three highest arches after the end of construction were noted by bronze images. Up to now remained two of them – on the different parties of a monument: Heracles Egipetsky's image (if to trust the legend, he is the founder of the city) and the image of the Maiden Fuensisla (the patroness of the city).

In 1884 the ancient aqueduct was declared by a monument of national property. Its restoration works began in 1997 under the leadership of the Spanish architect Francis Jurado. Before their termination Plaza Azoguejo Square received the status of the pedestrian zone.
