Бенедектинский монастырь в Мельке пережил целую серию взлётов и падений.
Возведённый в конце XI века, он был был разрушен пожаром 1297-го года,
затем вновь восстановлен в XIV веке и закрыт к началу XVI-го. В начале
XVIII века монастырь был в очередной раз перестроен, затем подвергся
пожару и вновь восстановлен. В XX веке величественный, похожий на
дворец, монастырский комплекс был снабжён современными системами
коммуникаций.

The Benedictine monastery in Melke endured the whole series of take-off and falling. Built at the end of the XI century, it was was destroyed by the fire of the 1297th year, then again restored in the XIV century and closed by the beginning of the XVI-th. At the beginning of the XVIII century the monastery was once again reconstructed, then underwent the fire and is again restored. In the XX century majestic, similar to the palace, a monastic complex it was supplied with modern systems of communications.
