Амстердамский шлюз (1796-1800). Основной водный поток,
связывающий Верхний и Нижний пруды проходит через Ахерусийское озеро.
Регулирование уровня воды между Верхним и Ахерусийским озерами
происходит через Амстердамский шлюз и подземную реку Ахеронт. Шлюз
состоит из двух частей: первая регулирует уровень подземной реки, а
вторая — открывает/закрывает подачу воды в целом.

Свое название он получил в честь шлюзов, находящихся на
Амстердам-Рейн-канале, (нидерл. Amsterdam-Rijn-kanaal), связывающем
Амстердам с основным судоходным путём Рейна.



Подземная река Ахеронт (1796-1800) связывает Верхнее и
Ахерусийское озера. Ее протяженность — 224 м, а глубина – 1 м,
вентилируемые четырьмя люками, которые так же служат для освещения. Река
создана искусственно рытьем тоннелей и укладкой плит над руслом реки.



Ахеронт, в мифологии, – река ведущая в царство мертвых из царства
живых, через которую Харон (др.-греч. “Χάρων” — яркий) перевозит души
умерших.



Ахерусийское (Ахеронтийское) озеро (1796-1800) символизирует первое пристанище души в царстве мертвых после реки Ахеротон.

 Amsterdam lock (1796-1800). The main water stream connecting Top and Nizhny Novgorod passes ponds through the Akherusiysky lake. Regulation of water level between Top and Akherusiysky lakes happens through the Amsterdam lock and the underground river Akheront. The lock consists of two parts: the first regulates the level of the underground river, and the second — opens/closes water supply in general.

He received the name in honor of the locks which are to Amsterdam-Rhine-channel (нидерл. Amsterdam-Rijn-kanaal), connecting Amsterdam with the main navigable way of Rhine.

The underground river Akheront (1796-1800) connects the Top and Akherusiysky lakes. Its extent — 224 m, and depth – 1 m ventilated by four hatches which also serve for lighting. The river is created artificially by digging of tunnels and laying of plates over the bed of the river.

Ахеронт, in mythology, – the river the leader in a kingdom of the dead from a kingdom live through which Charon (other - Greek "Χάρων" — bright) transports souls of the dead.

Akherusiyskoye (Akherontiyskoye) the lake (1796-1800) Akheroton symbolizes the first haven of soul in a kingdom of the dead after the river.
